Abstract
Effects of application time of GA_(4+7) paste (GA paste) and Promalin on composition and content of free sugars of ¢¥Kamcheonbae¢¥ and ¢¥Whangkuembae¢¥ pear fruits were studied. Major free sugars of two cultivars were fructose followed by glucose and sucrose. GA paste increased glucose in ¢¥Kamcheonbae¢¥. Fructose and glucose content of ¢¥Whangkuembae¢¥ was increased by early GA paste application, while late application increased the sucrose content. Application time of Promalin affected the sugar content of ¢¥Kamcheonbae¢¥, showing low fructose content and high sucrose content as application time was delayed. Fructose and sucrose content in ¢¥Whangkuembae¢¥ was significantly high when Promalin was applied 25 and 35 days after full bloom (DAFB), respectively. The general tendency of reduction in % fructose and increase in % glucose was observed except for application of Promalin 25 DAFB.
